Leading with Experience: Ben Witteveen 

Today, we're introducing the driving force behind Crown's professional services arm, General Manager Ben Witteveen.

Ben is a seasoned operator with over 20 years of experience spanning Defence, government, and the private sector. His leadership is grounded in a deep understanding of Defence capability, ICT transformation, and strategic business delivery.

Since joining Crown in 2022, Ben has been instrumental in guiding our team through some of the most complex ICT challenges. His role currently sees him lead around 100 people across multiple engagements.

Ben’s career includes senior roles across major Defence programs such as:

• JP9102 | Future SATCOM

• LAND 4130 | Enhanced DLAN Replacement

• Fleet Information Environment Modernisation Program

• Joint, Space and Maritime domains

  
  

His expertise extends beyond Defence. Ben has held key economist roles within the Bureau of Resource and Energy Economics and Border Force, where he led the development of publications forecasting Australia’s resource exports and revenue. He has collaborated with major Australian companies (BP, Rio Tinto), financial institutions, the RBA, Treasury, and State Treasurers. He he provided strategic insights into economic conditions and industry trends. His work has also supported ministerial decision-making, including direct engagement with the Minister for Resources.

Ben’s leadership reflects Crown’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and integrity. His ability to navigate complex environments and deliver meaningful outcomes makes him a not only a central member of our team, but a trusted partner to our clients.
